Online Nursing Assistant Course Breakdown
Entrance Exam Required to Enroll for online classes
This course provides comprehensive training and education for aspiring Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) who wish to pursue a fulfilling career in the healthcare field. The online course is Live Lecture with a CNA instructor where students can prepare for the state exam in as
14 weeks. Below are the hours offered for the online class. Please note in-person and online are two different classes and has slightly different requirements to register.
14 week Evening Sessions: Tues-Thurs (5:00pm-10:30pm) Theory
Sat and Sun (8am-4pm) Clinical
Clinical Site is located in Los Angeles
Grade Requirements for the Online CNA Class
To successfully pass the CNA training program at Daisy Medical Institute, students must achieve a minimum grade of 80% in coursework. This includes passing all written exams, demonstrating competency in practical skills, and completing all required assignments. Maintaining this standard ensures that students are well-prepared for the CNA certification exam and professional practice.
Required Coursework and Course Deadlines
For the online CNA program at Daisy Medical Institute, the required coursework includes 17 modules that cover essential nursing assistant skills, patient care techniques, and theoretical knowledge in alignment with California state requirements. Each module must be completed sequentially with assignments, quizzes, and exams designed to assess understanding and readiness for clinical practice.
All coursework, including tests and projects, must be completed by the established deadlines, which will be set weekly. -Students must stay on track, as no extensions will be granted without prior approval from the instructor.
Training Program Length and Clinical Rotation
The CNA training program spans 14 weeks, with Live Video Classes lectured with a CNA Instructor, Tuesday-Thursday 5:00pm-10:30pm with a 30-minute lunch, and clinical rotations on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) 8am-4pm to provide hands-on experience in a healthcare setting. Clinical rotations are held in Los Angeles, offering students practical exposure and the opportunity to apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios supervised by a LVN or RN instructor
Technology Requirements: To participate in the online CNA program, students must have access to the following:
- A mobile phone with a camera and internet access, or a computer with a webcam and reliable internet connection.
- The ability to download and use the school's portal either on desktop or mobile app, which will be necessary for accessing course materials, participating in live virtual classes, and completing assignments.
- Ability to access and download Zoom app and School Portal on their phone or desktop (View System Requirements for further details)
Entrance Exam: Before enrolling, students must pass an entrance exam with a minimum score of 80%. This exam assesses basic English, basic math, and technology navigation skills to ensure students are prepared for the online learning environment.
If students are not able to pass the entrance exam we encourage them to participate in the in-person session for a traditional learning setting.
